The 2007 Waubonsie Valley Girls Soccer Team not only had the most successful season in school history, this team also goes down as one of the most successful teams in IHSA history.  At the time, this state title was the first team championship in any sport in the 30+ year history of Waubonsie Valley athletics.  The Warriors were led by Head Coach Julie Bergstrom and assisted by Peter Lambert, Jen Kastner, & Sammy Somola.  The 2007 team completed the season with a perfect 10-0 record in the Upstate Eight Conference & a 30-0-1 overall record.  The 2007 Waubonsie Valley Girls Soccer team finished the season ranked #1 in the Nation by the National Coaches Association of America.  During the Warriors IHSA State Playoff run the team compiled a total of 34 goals while only giving up 5 goals in 8 games, including 4 shutout victories.  The 2007 team continues to remain in the IHSA Record Books, some of these records include: victories in a season with 30, most consecutive wins (27), goals scored in a season (129), consecutive games scored in a season (27), most shutouts in a season (24), and consecutive shutouts (11).  Members of the WVHS 2007 Undefeated State Champion Girls Soccer Team include: Catherine McClellan, Bri Rodriguez, Kylee Rodriguez, Allison Fox, Meagan Lynch, Gabby Guido, Vanessa DiBernardo, Kylie Anderson, Kaitlyn Rowsey, Ali Stahlke, Molly Thayer, Hillary Blake, Jessica Blake, Emily Bielaga, Christen Schuler, Brie Ewoldt, Rachel Bostick, Claire Hanold, Elena Bickel, Annie Lorenz, Diane Binder & Alana Jones.  This championship season laid the groundwork for many more successful girls soccer seasons for the Warriors, as evidenced by their State Championship trophies in 2008 & 2010.
